Earlier this summer, my husband and I made a somewhat last-minute trip to Wisconsin. We had decided to buy my husbands' uncle's motorcycle and ride it back to Arizona.
Between his work schedule and getting used to riding long distances, we were not sure how far we would ride each day. This meant we couldn't plan hotels too far in advance. We did some estimating and had the overall route planned, but only made most hotel reservations a day in advance.
We wanted to spend a day or two in Ouray, Colorado, but when we had a good grip on when we were going to be there, we had trouble finding a room for 2 nights. We were finally able to get one night in a town nearby and the next night in Ouray.
We enjoyed our short stay in Ouray but reminded that sometimes it is better to plan things further in advance.
I see the same thing at the end of every school year.
Parents of High School Seniors sometimes get caught up in all the Senior Year craziness and overlook Senior Pictures. I get calls from parents trying to book a Senior Session and it makes me sad when I can't help them because my schedule is full or the few sessions I have left won't work for them because of their schedule.
If you can, try to schedule your Senior Pictures in advance and not at the last minute. Plan on scheduling your child's senior pictures early in the school year. I start shooting in September for Seniors. Fall and winter are great seasons for location photography in Arizona.
